Sort of hidden away on the website link is that the launch route is Glasgow-Aberdeen, but with drivers based in Dundee.

The new route launches on 8th August, and is now available to book on the FlixBus website. However, you might have to wait a few more days to book from Dundee, as they’re just awaiting confirmation of the stop location from DCC.

I assume they will be getting ticket machines for Scottish free passes?

Yes, they will have Ticketer machines fitted for the acceptance of Scottish NECs

I think this right.. not sure the service number but this incldes Aberdeen-Glasgow Service TBC and the London times as per Flixbus Website - those on bustimes are actually a few minutes to an hour off, and have not been updated to reflect the new stop in Brum City Centre.

Now to update the Dundee to Summary Tables from 8th august when only just finshed 1st Aug until 7th ...ahh all the fun of the fare... see what i did there lol

Hopefully this means that scotrail will get it's finger out on prices. An absolute disgrace the prices on the trains from this area to Glasgow.

They’ve had coach competition for over 40 years, so I doubt FlixBus will suddenly make any difference to Scotrail pricing.

I understand that is the plan, although I suspect, on what is effectively a European wide website, it isn’t as straightforward as it sounds (at least from the technical perspective!)

non NEC walk-up fares will be the same as on other FlixBus routes, and processed through the Flix drivers ‘tablet’. There will be no *teapot* vaults on our nice FlixBus coaches!

After Ember commencing full E3 service today and Flixbus next Monday - you wait forever for a new bus operator from Dundee to Glasgow then two in the space of eight days…

Would it not be easier to utilities Union St at Malmasion for the stop??
Well the X90 and the E3 both now use it and there is now a wooden bench for passengers to wait on.

The whole situation with DCC is a farce. There should one stance in central Dundee for all long distance trips . Once again its down to this shambles of the SNP council. Albert Square would be an ideal spot. It has a Taxi rank so why not a coach stance.

Quite agree there should be somewhere for Long Distance coaches to stop with waiting facilities for passengers and staff to use.

This has got me thinking, other than Greenmarket, Malmasion and Dundee Bus Station, there is actually no coach park in Dundee (not counting the streets around Tannadice and Dens for obvious reasons).

Perhaps it’s time for DCC to pull their finger out of the bahookie and invest in facilities like Park and Ride and Long Distance coach interchange. Be based on Broxden at Perth and located at Claverhouse where there are roads leading to nowhere.

Currently seem to be using Ward Road, on both swides - on one side where it was removed to add in another taxi rank!

The one central location for all coach services to Dundee to serve should surelybe THE BUS STATION!! Never mind Greenmarket, Malmaision, Ward Road. I dont see how it is so teapot difficult to put them into the teapot BUS STATION!!!

That’s not an issue, as they are paying departure charges at a variety of locations across the UK. They are currently in discussions with the owners of both Aberdeen and Dundee bus stations, however these things can take time.
